The international supplier of medicine and medical equipment, Missionpharma, has chosen Bredana Axcite to develop and implement Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Supply Chain Management.
MissionPharma A/S
Industry: Sales and distribution of medicine
Size: Medium-sized
Solutions:
As close to standard Dynamics 365 as possible
Missionpharma delivers medicine and medical equipment that annually contributes to the treatment of 100 million people. For several years, a highly customized AX 2012 system has been the backbone of its global supply chain. However, following the end of Microsoft’s support, the group has chosen Dynamics 365 Finance & Supply Chain Management as its new ERP system.
During the transition, there is a strong focus on keeping the Dynamics 365 solution as close to standard as possible — and it’s not an easy journey.
"We know it's difficult, but the benefits are too many not to pursue the standard," says Thomas Braa Andersen, Head of Global IT at Missionpharma and internal project manager.
Bredana Axcite was selected as a partner in a bidding round with three consulting firms.
We chose Bredana Axcite because we sensed they were better at thinking in terms of standard — and doing so in an agile way. We also had a clear impression that Bredana Axcite understood our business."
Christian Overgaard, CEO, Missionpharma
The project is solidly anchored in the organization
We met with Christian Overgaard and Thomas Braa Andersen late in the development and implementation process. On the way to the meeting room, we passed through the canteen. Here, a large poster with a drawing of the Phoenix bird — the project’s name — is displayed, and on each side, there is a glass tube with balls. Each ball in the right tube symbolizes a process that has been approved. In the left tube, the balls symbolize processes that have not yet been approved.
The setup in the canteen is visible proof of internal project management with strong leadership involvement and a high level of communication across departments worldwide.
“We run the project in the same way as in very large companies,” says Thomas Braa Andersen, who, before joining Missionpharma, had worked at Novo Nordisk.
“15 percent of an ERP project is technology. The rest is process and people. That’s why we’ve built a strong internal organization around it.”
This means that Christian Overgaard participates in all steering committee meetings with Bredana Axcite, and all members of Missionpharma’s management team have the implementation of the project as a personal goal.
“If there is a challenge in a department regarding the project, the rest of us step in with understanding. We succeed or fail together,” explains Christian Overgaard.
In the monthly global TEAMS employee meeting (with up to 170 participants), 10 minutes are dedicated to Project Phoenix.
This anchoring ensures strong support for the super users working on the front lines of the project.
As of mid-March 2025, the project is progressing according to plan. There is a positive atmosphere around it at all levels. It appears that Missionpharma — in collaboration with Bredana Axcite — is succeeding with the challenging change management process that the development and implementation of a new ERP system with a high degree of standard functionality entails.
This is due in no small part to the determination of the leadership. No one at Missionpharma doubts that the project is critical to the business and places demands on each individual.
Close collaboration between consultants and internal staff
Bredana Axcite has been tackling tasks for Borg Automotive Group since the implementation of Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012.
In the past year, the dedicated consultant and development team from Bredana Axcite has, among other things, built a new "engine" for the Depos solution, which manages the extensive and complex collection and return of starters, generators, brake calipers, and more after refurbishment.
"We have a very trusting collaboration with Bredana Axcite. The consultants have a deep understanding of our business and engage in close collaboration with our own employees," says Niels Bering Larsen.
"When Bredana Axcite presents proposals, we know they are well-thought-out and aligned with Depos and our supply chain in general. We don't need to spend time specifying solutions to the smallest detail but can instead focus on discussing the direction we should take," says Niels Bering Larsen.
"It requires insight and understanding, and Bredana Axcite possesses that, also taking responsibility for the final solutions delivered by our Polish partner."
Bredana Axcite also ensures the integration between the customer portal and the ERP system.
"We are focused on delivering an even sharper value proposition to our customers, and the customer portal is an important tool here. Through automation, we can offer better and faster service," says Niels Bering Larsen."
A generator is like new when Borg Automotive Group has refurbished it. In the other hand, Niels Bering Larsen holds a similar generator that has just arrived at the factory.
Expertise in a complex supply chain and international business
Bredana Axcite was chosen as a consulting firm 12 years ago due to its proposals for solving and organizing the task. At the same time, Bredana Axcite could meet the requirement that Borg Automotive Group become a significant customer with a specialized supplier rather than a small fish in the pond with a very large supplier.
In the ongoing collaboration, Borg Automotive Group has been able to draw on Bredana Axcite's core competencies in supply chain management and the implementation of Dynamics AX – now Dynamics 365.
"Bredana Axcite has extensive knowledge and insight into our business. We have a good dialogue. It works in everyday operations," says Niels Bering Larsen."

Refurbishing two million parts per year
For over 40 years, Borg Automotive Group has been working to deliver the best refurbished OE-matching auto parts and has grown into a family of attractive brands - DRI, Elstock, TMI, and Lucas.
Annually, more than two million parts are refurbished. Borg Automotive Group is thus part of the green transition, which also makes it easier to recruit new employees who want to work in an environmentally friendly company.
Borg Automotive Group is the only one in the industry that can deliver eight different product groups. Currently: Starters, generators, turbochargers, brake calipers, AC compressors, EGR valves, steering racks, and power steering pumps. There are 13,700 part numbers to choose from.
In 2014, Borg Automotive Group opened Northern Europe's largest warehouse of its kind with space for more than one million parts. With production facilities in England, Poland, and Spain, and warehouses in several European countries, the company is close to its customers.
"We are proud to grow on a circular business model that reduces energy consumption and the use of raw materials, and saves CO2 emissions," says Niels Bering Larsen.
More than two million parts are refurbished annually. Borg Automotive Group is thus a part of the green transition.
