Strong business understanding enabled rapid Dynamics AX implementation
When ITW Contamination Controls relocated from Aarhus to Amsterdam a few years ago, the company chose to bring Bredana Axcite on board as its partner for the development of a Dynamics AX solution.
This decision was primarily driven by Bredana Axcite’s strong business understanding. Without it, implementing the system within the limited timeframe would hardly have been possible, says Jens Eden from ITW Contamination Controls.
“The consultants understand what we mean when we use professional terminology, and the project manager has a background in finance, enabling him to advise our finance function. He is not ‘just’ an ERP consultant – he is a consultant with insight into our entire business,” says Jens Eden.
In October 2010, it became clear that ITW Contamination Controls’ future address would be Hoofddorp near Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam - rather than Hedensted, which had also been under consideration.
“That gave us two months to relocate the entire company, hire employees in the Netherlands, and develop and implement our own Dynamics AX system, as we previously shared a system with our sister company in Silkeborg,” Jens Eden explains.
“I called Bredana and asked whether they could help us within the relatively short timeframe. ‘No problem!’ was the response.”
The project was completed on time and within the agreed budget. By 15 December, Bredana Axcite was ready to carry out testing. On 1 January , coinciding with the opening of ITW Contamination Controls at the new location - Dynamics AX went live.
Jens Eden highlights the strong chemistry between Bredana Axcite and ITW Contamination Controls:
“They understand what we mean by what we say - and they contribute their own opinions. This is highly beneficial to the collaboration and, ultimately, to the end result,” says Jens Eden.
Carsten Slot from Bredana Axcite is proud that ITW Contamination Controls has chosen to continue a long-standing collaboration with Bredana Axcite.
“The implementation in the Netherlands is also fully aligned with our international strategy for the Dynamics AX team,” says Carsten Slot.
The process demonstrates that physical distance plays only a minor role in the implementation of a Dynamics AX solution. Naturally, several meetings were held in the Netherlands, but much of the work can be managed remotely. Ongoing service and support are handled via TeamViewer.

Barcode solution to ensure full traceability
ITW Contamination Controls supplies companies with extremely clean production environments, including manufacturers of computer chips and pharmaceuticals.
“We depend on being able to trace our products all the way from raw materials to the end user. That is why we have now asked Bredana to implement their Pocket barcode solution, which is developed for Dynamics AX,” says Jens Eden.
The barcode solution effectively “extends” Dynamics AX onto handheld warehouse terminals, with data updated online in real time.
“In addition to traceability, we achieve other major benefits such as improved inventory management and minimised picking errors,” says Jens Eden.
Next step: Production Management
ITW Contamination Controls does not currently have its own production, but plans to manufacture selected items in-house that are currently produced in China.
“Wages are rising rapidly in China at the moment, so production there is no longer quite as inexpensive. By bringing production home, we also save on container freight and shipping time,” says Jens Eden.
Once again, Bredana is involved as both implementation partner and sparring partner as Dynamics AX is expanded with production management. As with Bredana AX Pocket, development and implementation begin with a detailed analysis and a workshop to ensure that expectations around the project, timeline, and budget are closely aligned between the parties.
